In the News: Chris Peterson

Here is a recent article about Chris Peterson from The Eagle, Bryan/College Station's daily newspaper:

"Bryan attorney says Bryan schools need more exposure"

By HOLLY HUFFMAN, Eagle Staff Writer

Bryan attorney Chris Peterson said he thinks the Bryan school district, which he described as often standing in the shadows of its College Station neighbor, needs to learn to “toot its horn.”

The district needs to do a better job of working with Realtors and business owners to promote itself while letting community members know that Bryan is a great school system, Peterson said. “We’ve got great schools,” Peterson said. “We’ve got great teachers. I think Bryan ISD doesn’t toot its horn enough.“I think there’s a misconception that the schools in Bryan are somehow weaker than the schools in College Station. We just need to be more vocal: This is who we are. This is what we do.”

Peterson filed Monday to run for the Bryan school board Place 4 position. The post is currently held by Board President Susan McKneely, who had not filed for re-election by Monday. Filing ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
